The Latest Sailor Moon Film Is Heading To Netflix
Follow your favorite Sailor Guardians on their latest adventure.
The latest film in the Sailor Moon franchise is set to be available for streaming on Netflix. The film, entitled Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal, was shown throughout Japan’s theatres back in February and will land on Netflix on June 3rd.
The film will be split into two parts and centre around the theme of ‘dreams’, following along from the dream arc that was conveyed in the original manga. Set in the vibrant cherry-blossom filled season of April, the film portrays the growth of the Sailor Guardians and hints at a relationship between the characters Chibi-Usa and Helios.
Netflix announced the film on Twitter, gushing about the latest release saying, “join all your favorite Sailor Guardians as they battle the mysterious Dead Moon Circus and awaken dazzling new powers.”
The manga of Sailor Moon was first released in Japan in the early 1990s. Since then, the manga and successful anime series has become one of the most recognizable and beloved animes internationally.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal is directed by Chiaki Kon, the director behind another of Netflix’s animes The Way of The Househusband. Earlier this year Netflix announced that they will be releasing 40 new anime titles as an attempt to reach a more international audience.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal will be available for streaming on Netflix in June.
