The First Look at Jordan Peele’s Next Movie ‘Nope’ Is Here

The trailer for the latest movie in Jordan Peele’s horror repertoire has recently been released before its debut in cinemas this summer. Peele’s work in horror rose to success following the release of Get Out in 2017 which won Best Original Screenplay at the 90th Academy Awards and was also nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. Daniel Kaluuya was also nominated for Best Actor for his role in Get Out which adds to the excitement surrounding his role in Nope. The success of Get Out was followed by another fantastic reception for Peele’s next horror Us which starred Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke. 

Peele’s latest trailer teases a similarly eery and mysterious horror surrounding residents of a small, isolated town in California who witness an unsettling and peculiar event. The film is set on the Haywood Ranch which is described as ‘the only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood’ and the trailer highlights the ways in which the horses are eerily able to sense the tension suggesting an almost paranormal element to the film. While the actual plot of the movie remains unclear, Peele’s talents in building mystery and creating a chilling atmosphere are made clear in the two minute trailer as lighting, sound and visuals are all utilized to make the trailer exciting whilst keeping it spoiler-free. 

Nope is set to be released in cinemas on July 22nd, 2022.
