The Biggest Casino Losses Among Celebrities

Because of their wealth, they often spend a bit more than the average Joe

POSTED BY ANNA GRAHAM

It’s long been known that celebrities enjoy hitting the casino, be it in real life or online. And, it’s fair to say that because of their wealth, they often spend a bit more than the average Joe when gambling. Of course, this can lead to some huge wins, but it can also mean they incur big losses along the way too.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is not only one of the greatest golfers ever to live but one of the greatest sportsmen. But, as everyone knows, over the years, Tiger has been plagued with multiple issues away from golf, especially in his private life. Woods, 46, has always had a love for the casino and has reportedly lost $25,000 hands when playing blackjack. And as a result, it’s believed he’s a limit imposed when gambling in Vegas at some venues. Woods may be better off playing at online casinos instead, as slots games online offer more variety and, crucially, anonymity.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson is a pin-up of the 90s and is best known for her role in the hit TV series Baywatch, which ran between 1992 and 1997. As well as the fifty-five-year-old being renowned for her work in TV and glamour modelling, Anderson is also a fan of casino gaming and, in particular, poker. Like many other celebrities, Anderson has developed a love for the game, which has turned into a passion she’s taken seriously over the years. However, it’s not always resulted in big wins, as she’s also reported to have lost in the region of $250,000 in one sitting.

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck is a legend in Hollywood. He’s a polished actor, writer and director. But, unlike many celebrities who have a love or a passion for the casino, Affleck has proven he’s capable of excelling in the poker realm too, which has seen him go on and compete professionally many times. After winning a poker championship event in 2004, it’s believed many Las Vegas venues called time on Affleck being allowed to play in their establishments, which is often par for the course for skilled players. And it’s even the case for the fifty-year-old, even though he reportedly lost $400k in one round of poker.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is one of the best footballers to play the sport and certainly one of the best to come out of the UK. And while he’s often made headlines for all the right reasons due to what he achieved on the pitch, there have been times when he’s made them for the wrong reasons too. In what many describe as one of the quickest losses known in gambling circles, it’s suggested that due to sheer boredom, Rooney wagered and lost around £500,000, which is half a million pounds, in a couple of hours, playing roulette and blackjack. It’s unlikely to have damaged his bank account too much, with the DC United boss a multi-millionaire, but it’s a staggering amount to lose so fast all the same.
