It’s officially brunch season, which means we’re having our eggs with a side of bottomless mimosas. Nothing beats a morning debrief with your friends, sitting in the sun, sunglasses on, and nowhere else to be for the rest of the day. But, if you’re like me, the main reason you’re attending an early weekend brunch is for the opportunity to wear a sundress specifically saved for the occasion.

Whether it’s Easter Sunday or a day-drinking Saturday, brunch should be its own style category. It’s about finding a day-time going-out outfit that’s slightly modest, slightly casual, but entirely curated.

Finding the perfect brunch outfit is about leaning into spring pastels and patterns that bring you from the brunch table to a bar’s patio. From micro shorts to mini dresses to maxi skirts, brunch outfits show a spring-approved level of skin, while still feeling refined for daytime plans.

Although sundresses are always my default, I’ve been loving two-piece sets, especially a matching top and shorts moment. Soft silhouettes, linen fabrics, light layers, and bare shoulders are all brunch-time musts. And if we’re going the pants route, keep it fitted with straight-leg styles or capris, paired with a strappy top.

Our daytime brunch outfits should feel like something we just threw on, because, in reality, they probably are. That’s why having the perfect daytime pieces on hand is essential to making it to last-minute brunch plans.
