Skinny Jeans And Mullets: Illegal Things In North Korea
Who knew those hot new Levi's are considered anti-socialist behaviour?
It is reported that North Korea has now banned skinny jeans, mullets, piercings, and a myriad of other western fashion trends in the government's pertinent attempts at fighting "anti-socialist" behavior.
Concerns for the increasingly westernized attire of North Koreans was published on Rodong Sinmum, the government newspaper which warns “we must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalist lifestyle and fight to get rid of them.”
Amongst the banned trends, we find certain piercings, "non-proper" hairstyles, and band t-shirts.
Oh, and what entails a proper hairstyle, you may wonder?
The government claims there are only 15 socialist hairstyles the population can adopt - and a youth organization will be patrolling the streets to make sure the citizens abide by these rather surreal new laws.
