5 Signs That You Are The Sidechick, Not The Main Chick
Don’t ignore the red flags, sis.
Do you have a sneaky suspicion that you are ‘Becky with the good hair’in your ‘relationship’? Here are 6 signs that will reassure you that your intuition is not wrong and you are indeed, his sidepiece:
#1 He doesn’t post you on social media
A man not posting you on any of his socials nor commenting and liking any of your posts is a telltale sign that you are his sidechick.
Going Instagram official is an important aspect of relationships these days because it is a very public way of saying “Yes, I am in a relationship with this person, and I’m ready for the whole world to know.” So if your picture is nowhere to be seen on his insta, then you better run.
#2 You never do things outside of the house together
If he won’t take you out on movie dates, dinners or bowling – but he wants you to only chill with him indoors it’s because 1: he is using you for sex and 2: he doesn’t want to be publicly seen with you in case he bumps into his friends or his girlfriend’s friends.
He reserves those big date nights for his main girl.
#3 He keeps you in the talking stage
You’ve calling each other pet names, made out, and slept together for months – but he still hasn’t put a label on your relationship? Whew, girl, that is a huge red flag.
It’s clear that he doesn’t want to make you official because he has a main girlfriend that he has reserved that label for. He only wants relationship benefits from you but without the title.
#4 He doesn’t introduce you to his friends or family
If he is serious about you, he will take you to family functions because that’s just what people in healthy relationships do.
You are definitely his side chick if he avoids introducing you to people who may spill the beans to his girlfriend. Spending time together shouldn’t just be between the two of you, it should be with his friends too and vice versa.
#5 He only hooks up at your place
If he refuses you to go to his place and insists that he comes over to your place that is definitely a red flag.
He doesn’t want to make your presence apparent in his apartment/ home because he lives with his girlfriend.
If you think that you might be the side chick in the relationship, you need to run in the opposite direction, fast. Don’t settle for crumbs, sis. You deserve more.
