Seeking Arrangements CEO Offers To Pay For Abortions
'This Is America, Don’t Catch You Slippin’ Up.'
SeekingArrangements is the website we have all mentioned at some point in our lives, whether we’re joking or being serious about getting a Sugar Daddy or Momma - we all know what it is.
In a turn of events, CEO Brandon Wade has spoken out as an ally for women and other people with uteruses. "If lawmakers will not step in to help these desperate women, then I will”, Wade announced in a Youtube video posted last Tuesday.
Wade mentioned in this video that his girlfriend Zoe and her sister who hail from Alabama cried over the newest Abortion Bill, which “outlaws the procedure in almost all cases”, which even includes banning abortion in cases of rape or incest. Through speaking to Zoe and her sister he learned that a large reason many women who have suffered because of this new law cannot travel to a different state to get the procedure done is that many don’t have the funds to do so.
Wade and Zoe have now begun the launch of a charity called Fight Against Poverty “so that when any state makes the decision to deny women the right to make choices about her body, we can help.” The organization will reportedly provide funding for women and families who cannot afford to gain access to proper healthcare and will help them to travel to other states to exercise their right to a choice.
A spokesperson for SeekingArrangement has spoken out and said that the company will pay for and coordinate travel for those who need an abortion and pay for their procedure, they do not have to be members of the website but send in an application.
If you’re wondering if there is anything you can do to help these women and people with uteruses, Refinery29 have posted a list of non-profit organizations and more that donations are being accepted to. We must stand together to make a change.
