Savage X Fenty Hires First Little Person Ambassador
The lingerie line wows us once more with its all inclusive ethos.
23-year-old Tamera McLaughlin became Savage X Fenty’s first little person ambassador earlier this week, as the company continues to prioritize diversity.
Rihanna has always broken barriers when it’s come to traditional norms in the fashion and beauty world. Fenty beauty is similarly known for its all-embracing principles, as in 2017 it became one of the first makeup lines to provide an extensive 40 foundation shades.
Of course, this time is no different as Savage X Fenty takes on sizism in a smoking hot photoshoot where McLaughlin poses against a room composed of dollar bills. The US influencer took to Instagram to make the announcement, stunning her 501k followers in a black satin set.
McLaughlin speaks out about becoming an ambassador and how her dreams turned into reality, “The week my ordered lingerie shipped, I got an email and it mentioned that they had somehow seen one of my viral videos and Fenty was interested in bringing me aboard as an ambassador! I CRIED IMMEDIATELY. Just that fast, it happened.”
This comes as no surprise as Rihanna consistently showcases bodies that aren’t accepted on runways, such as diverse male models and breast cancer survivors. Continuing to make space for all body types, it’s clear her plans to create a more inclusive industry have only just begun.
