Sarter Kit Announces Debut Album "What I Am And What I’m Not"
Hear lead single "Time got relative"
Weimar-based three-piece Sarter Kit introduces their debut album, showcasing the powerful artistic vision of saxophonist Tara Sarter. Her minimalist, experimental jazz explores the delicate balance between sound and silence, inviting listeners into a world of striking emotional depth.
Accompanying the announcement is the lead single “Time Got Relative.” Embracing restraint over excess, the track weaves intricate polyrhythms courtesy of Lukas Akintaya’s drumming with hypnotic piano and synthesizer layers from Stemeseder, where every note and silence carries profound weight.
Speaking on the new single, Sarter muses, “In this world it’s kinda not anymore about having a lot of 'open end time', it’s not about being with the time, building a consciousness with it. We don’t appreciate the time we actually have. The world is so rushed—people think ‘I’ll just do that very quickly’ instead of caring enough to live fully.”
The Journey Behind the Music
Sarter Kit is the brainchild of 25-year-old German saxophonist Tara Sarter, whose musical journey began at a young age near the French border. What started as a one-off concert, initiated by pianist Elias Stemeseder during her university days in Weimar, evolved into a collaborative project that now culminates in this debut album.
