Ryan Murphy’s Pose Set To End After Third Season
The fan favorite series was groundbreaking for LGBTQ+ representation.
Fans of the FX series Pose have had some bittersweet news this week as the creators have announced the show will come to a close after it’s upcoming third season.
“It was a very difficult decision for us to make,” explained Pose co-creator and executive producer Steven Canals. “But this has been an incredible journey, and we have told the story that we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it.”
The series explores Harlem’s underground ball culture and was acclaimed for its LGBTQ+ representation on TV. The fabulous ballroom culture of the 80s and 90s will be sorely missed, but the characters more so. “Pose has elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it,” says John Landgraf, chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions. Murphy tweeted out “We got to tell the exact story we wanted, as we wanted to tell it, and I’m incredibly honored and grateful.”
