Remembering Freddie Mercury 30 Years After His Death
30 years later and Freddie is as loved as ever.
November 24th marked the 30th anniversary since the Queen front man's passing. Freddie Mercury is to thank for massive amounts of iconic hits including Bohemian Rapsody, Don’t Stop Me Now and Another One Bites the Dust. Although the artist may be gone, he is certainly not forgotten as his music continues to inspire and influence people even today.
Freddie Mercury was born on September 5th, 1946, in Zanzibar where he lived until his 20s before moving to Middlesex England. He then began studying graphic design, it was during his time studying a fellow student introduced him to Roger Taylor and Brain May who would later become his bandmates. From then the group became musical icons, with 6 singles reaching number one in the UK charts, award-winning albums and their greatest hits album staying in the UK top 50 since its release in 1981 it's safe to say the group is one of the most successful bands of all time.
Even after Freddies passing the group continued to tour and in 2018 the film Bohemian Rhapsody was released remember the artist's life and legacy. Thirty years later and Freddie is still remembered and loved not only for his incredible vocal range which covered three octaves but also for his uniqueness and ability to see beauty in being different. His ability to be different was a breath of fresh air and was inspiring to many. He was truly one of a kind and will continue to inspire us to be different and have fun.
