Ramen Shoes Are Hot For 2020
Just add some flavour…
Fresh from winning numerous awards, including Brand Of The Year at this year’s Fashion Awards, it looks like Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta had a few too many celebratory drinks and have come up with their craziest shoe yet.
The ‘instant noodle’ shoe is a beige woven mule and resembles a slab of ramen noodles before adding water. The shoes and their comparison were first posted on Instagram by the hawk eyes at Diet Prada and were slated by commenters as “cheap and tasteless” among other things.
Bottega Veneta was on the feet of every fashionista this summer with their ‘Lido’ sandals being one of the most iconic styles of 2019. Creative Director Daniel Lee has been applauded for injecting new life and commerciality into the brand since he came on board in 2018. If anything, the hype surrounding the noodle shoes will make them even more popular come fashion week. However, with prices coming in around $1200 we think we’ll skipping this snack in favour of the cupboard version.
