Rachel Zegler Pays Tribute To Katniss Everdeen With Alexander McQueen Dress
Lucy Gray Baird's fashion homage.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel to the popular dystopian saga, had its European premiere on Sunday. The film's star, Rachel Zegler, paid homage to Jennifer Lawrence, who played Katniss Everdeen in the original trilogy, with a stunning black Alexander McQueen dress.
The dress had a strapless neckline that looked like a crown and a red pattern on the skirt that reminded of Katniss's fire dress in the first film. Katniss wore a white dress that turned into a black one with flames during a TV show before the deadly Games.
Rachel, who plays Lucy Gray Baird, the heroine of the prequel, added some sparkle to her look with a bracelet, rings, and silver hoops. She wore her dark hair in waves with a middle part and opted for a rose-red smoky eye and a dark red lip. The prequel is set during the tenth Hunger Games, years before President Snow's dictatorship and Katniss Everdeen and Peta Mellark's uprising. She shared the red carpet with her co-stars Hunter Schafer and Tom Blyth, and her boyfriend, Josh Andrés Rivera (who also appeared with Zegler in West Side Story).
