Pyer Moss Returns To Runway For Paris Haute Couture Week
From New York to Paris, summer 2021 is looking bright!
Designer Kerby Jean-Raymond will be taking Haute Couture Week by storm this summer, debuting Pyer Moss for the upcoming season in Paris. According to a statement given to WWD by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the Pyer Moss studio will be a guest member in July 2021.
This exciting news will mark the label’s return to the runway, as we were originally expecting its first show to take place in September 2023 for New York Fashion Week. Pyer Moss will be joining houses like Chanel, Christian Dior and Schiaparelli on this year’s schedule.
The specification for haute couture includes extreme attention to detail, with at least 50 original garments being presented every January and July. Members must meet strict requirements while designing made-to-order clothing for private clients.
We have no doubt that Pyer Moss will surpass these high standards. The label’s reputation speaks for itself, gaining support from celebrities such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Zendaya and Tracee Ellis Ross.
This is a huge step for Black American designers and we can’t wait to celebrate what’s to come for Jean-Raymond and the Pyer Moss team. Keep your eyes peeled for the show in two months’ time!
