Back With A Bang, Production Has Started For Season 2 Of ‘Never Have I Ever’
Love triangles, new rivals and moving to India?
It was only earlier in the year that Netflix released the first season of Never Have I Ever and due to popular demand, producer Mindy Kaling and the cast are back to work, with a new cast member!
Main characters Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Devi), Darren Barnet (Paxton), Lee Rodriguez (Fabiola), Ramona Young (Eleanor) and Jaren Lewison (Ben) are all returning to our screens and they’re “so excited” according to Kaling. They took to Twitter to announce not only Devi’s new bangs, but the renewal of season two.

Last season followed Devi, an Indian-American teenager trying to navigate sophomore year of high school. After losing her dad and the loss of her legs in the first couple of minutes of the show (which she gets back shortly after), Devi wants to return to normality. So naturally, she sets her sights on losing her virginity to the hottest guy in school, Paxton. It may sound like your classic, trivial high school drama series but Never Have I Ever also explores the somewhat taboo topic of grief, perfectly balancing humour with empathy. Although the series revolves around main character Devi, each character we meet has their own experiences to navigate which is why so many teenagers all over the world can relate to this coming-of-age series. The series ended on a cliffhanger as Devi finds herself unexpectedly stuck in a love triangle between Paxton and Ben.
But there’s a new kid on the block. Megan Suri, who appeared on Fresh Off The Boat plays Aneesa, “a new Indian student at Sherman Oaks High, whose confidence and radiance will post an immediate threat to Devi”. So we’re excited to see what role she undoubtedly has to play in the love triangle situation!
There’s no news of a season two plot or a release date so stay up to date with all the Netflix news.
