Palace Drops Surprise Whitney Houston Capsule Dedicated To Her Legacy Foundation
So I'm saving all my coin for you.
Following the release of their collaboration with New Era, cult fave streetwear label Palace has revealed its latest collection, the celebration of the life and cultural impact of the most awarded female artist in history, Whitney Houston.
The capsule is an ode to Whitney’s off-duty style, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation, inspiring and empowering youth to excel past their expectations by creating opportunities and building self-esteem. The collection features new designs of several of the late singer’s go-to pieces when off-stage and spending time with friends and family. Her long-time manager and sister-in-law Pat Houston stated that Whitney would have loved to wear the collection herself, “Nippy always loved wearing a cool sweatshirt when she was away from the spotlight. This collection reflects her fun and easy going personality – she would have been proud to wear it, knowing it was for a good cause.”
Discussing the collection, Palace noted, “Whitney Houston is one of the all-time greats. We are so stoked and so honored to continue our charitable commitments this year with a line that celebrates such an incredible pop star and human being.”
The drop includes a varsity jacket in a red/yellow colorway, featuring chenille patches reading “WHITNEY” on the back and “HOUSTON” on the front, a design also seen on crewnecks and tees arriving in further white/teal and red/black colorways, with caps also following the design. Additionally, the capsule includes tees with the Richard Avedon shot cover of the 1987 album Whitney, depicting the artist in a tank top displaying Palace’s iconic tri-ferg logo.
The collection will launch online and in stores globally on Nov 13 at 11a.m.
