Our Internet Boyfriends Are Going To Duke It Out For Our Love In Dune: Part 2
We are all going to pass out when this movie comes out.
Over the last few weeks, there have been rumors that Austin Butler, our new leading man, and Timothée Chalamet, our favorite Victorian child, will star alongside each other in Dune: Part 2. While we thought it was just a fever dream (I’m literally getting heart palpitations thinking about them on the same big screen), Dune’s director, Denis Villeneuve, confirmed that the rumors were true last week.
Alongside Villeneuve, Austin Butler confirmed the news in an interview with the New York Times. During the discussion, the Elvis actor claimed to have started vigorous training for knife-fighting in preparation for the film. Butler also confirmed which character he’ll be playing in Dune: Part 2; the heartthrob snagged the role of Feyd-Rautha. Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides, will participate in multiple duel scenes with Butler’s Feyd-Rautha.
Accompanying Timothée will be everyone’s favorite triple-threat, Zendaya. She will reprise her role as Chani in the second installment. While Zendaya didn’t have a massive part in Dune, Villeneuve confirmed that the fashion icon would have a more significant role in the upcoming film. We can expect the whole nine yards from everyone participating in Dune: Part 2, as Villeneuve confirmed this will “be the biggest challenge of my career, again, because it’s even more complex than Part 1.”
While I have yet to see the first Dune movie, I will be the first in line for Dune: Part 2 so I can Austin and Timothée fight.
