Danish singer-songwriter Oh Land, also known as Nanna Øland Fabricius, is making waves once again with the exciting announcement of her upcoming album, "Loop Soup." Set to release on September 29 via her own imprint Tusk or Tooth, the album promises to showcase Oh Land's genre-bending pop prowess while creating a sonic universe that reflects her place in today's society.

To give fans a taste of what's to come, Oh Land has unveiled the infectious single "My Freak" from the project. Produced by Vasco (known for his work with Terror Jr and MØ), the disco-infused track boasts a lush melody and a slick rhythm, perfectly complemented by Oh Land's silky vocals. "My Freak" is an ode to finding deep love with someone just as peculiar as oneself, celebrating the quirks and deviations from the norm that make relationships truly special. Oh Land explains, "With all the people I love in my life, what I love about them the most is in their deviations from normal... 'My Freak' is a love song about finding my own logic and natural love with someone. That deep connection that only you understand."

On "Loop Soup," Oh Land creates a world that feels like it was born in a distant galaxy. The album playfully merges unconventional song structures, ethereal vocals, and grandiose cinematic soundscapes with poetic lyricism that delves into the struggles of being a human in a world where one often feels like an alien. Drawing inspiration from sci-fi films of the '60s and '70s like "Barbarella" and "Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain," as well as disco aesthetics akin to Boney M., this vibrant and upbeat album invites listeners to dance and express themselves. Nanna describes the album as "a pathfinder or an emotional compass of my own space venture. Weaving in and out of memories, future dreams, and having to deal with the present."

Oh Land's musical journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. After a back injury ended her ballet career, she wrote and produced her debut album, "Fauna," in 2008. Since then, Oh Land has released four studio albums, toured the world as a headliner, and opened for renowned acts such as Katy Perry and Sia. Her live performances are renowned for their mesmerizing energy, incorporating visually stunning stage designs and choreography. Additionally, Oh Land has collaborated as a songwriter with artists including Pharrell, Sia, and John Legend. Her self-titled album, "Oh Land" (2011), garnered critical acclaim for its unique fusion of electronic pop, folk, and experimental sounds, introducing her to a global audience. With subsequent albums like "Wish Bone" (2013), "Earth Sick" (2014), and "Family Tree" (2019), Oh Land has continued to push boundaries and solidify her reputation as a versatile and captivating musician.

"Loop Soup" is undoubtedly a highly anticipated release, promising a captivating journey through Oh Land's sonic universe. Fans can mark their calendars for September 29 to delve into the artist's latest chapter, where genre-bending pop meets otherworldly sounds and introspective lyrics.
