Icona Pop, the global chart-topping duo, has just announced the details of their highly anticipated second studio album, titled "Club Romantech." The album is scheduled to be released on September 1 through Ultra Records, Iconic Sound Recordings, and TEN Music Group. To give fans a taste of what's to come, Icona Pop has also unveiled the official artwork and tracklist for the album, along with a new single called "Where Do We Go From Here," which was released on June 23.

"Where Do We Go From Here" holds a special significance for Icona Pop, as it was one of the first songs they wrote in the fall of 2020 when they had to remain in Stockholm due to the pandemic. The duo formed a small crew and began making music, exploring various styles and emotions. According to Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, the song encompasses a range of elements, from eclectic and fun to hard-hitting and catchy, all while maintaining a touch of sentimentality. These characteristics extend to the overall vibe of their album, "Club Romantech."

In discussing the album, Caroline emphasizes that Icona Pop does not adhere to any particular rules when it comes to their music. They have a vision they want to share with their fans, and the album serves as an invitation into their world. Aino adds that they channel their problems and stress into their music, often disguising heartbreak and sadness with uplifting and danceable tunes. The album was an emotional process for the duo, and their emotions are embedded within the music.

The journey to creating "Club Romantech" began when the pandemic forced Icona Pop to sell their Los Angeles home and return to Stockholm for quarantine. It was during this time that they found themselves back in the studio where their career had initially taken off. The experience allowed them to reconnect with their electronic and alternative roots from a more mature perspective as seasoned performers and accomplished songwriters.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Icona Pop managed to produce danceable music during the quietest period they had experienced in over a decade. They felt the need to create more up-tempo tracks, which prompted them to explore different styles and have fun in the studio. While initially devastated by their return to Sweden, they eventually embraced the situation, finding solace and inspiration in the studio.

"Club Romantech" features several previously released tracks, including "Shit We Do For Love" with Yaeger, "Faster," and "I Want You" with Galantis. Additionally, the album includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Ultra Naté on "You're Free," VIZE on "Off Of My Mind," and SOFI TUKKER on "SPA." These tracks, along with the newly released "Where Do We Go From Here," provide a diverse musical experience for listeners.

In anticipation of the album's release, fans can pre-order "Club Romantech" now. The tracklist consists of fifteen songs, each contributing to the unique atmosphere of the album. Some notable titles include "Fall In Love," "Desire" featuring Joel Corry, "Stockholm At Night," and "Loving You Ain't Easy."

Icona Pop's upcoming album promises to showcase their evolution as artists while staying true to their signature style. With "Club Romantech," the duo invites fans to join them on a musical journey filled with infectious beats, heartfelt lyrics, and the boundless energy that has made them a global sensation.
