Off-White Stores Install Floral Arrangements In Memory Of Virgil Abloh
Colorful flowers replace merchandise at Off-White stores across the globe.
Paying tribute to its founder Virgil Abloh, Off-White stores across the world have replaced their merchandise with vibrant, blooming floral installations. Reminiscent of the label’s SS20 show, a colorful array of flowers fill stores around the globe, including London, Paris, Hong Kong, Seoul, Miami, New York, and Tokyo.
“In a world where kindness is rare, where hierarchies still carry weight and where fashion can change the rules but sometimes ends up creating new ones, there was you,” said in a statement released by Off-White’s official Instagram page. “Your extended family is heartbroken. We will miss you, Virgil. Your words constantly inspired us and gave us the courage to dare, to dream, to create. We’ll miss your WhatsApp messages, your laugh, your pure soul. We love you, Virgil.”
Graffiti artwork and heartfelt post-it notes left by the designer’s cherished fans fill the windows of stores worldwide. Digital message boards read “Virgil Forever,” expressing compassion and admiration for Abloh, who passed away from a rare form of cancer on November 28.
