Oakley Future Genesis: Chapter One – A Multimedia Odyssey Continues
New animated film and comic redefine Oakley's storytelling.
Oakley® has launched "Future Genesis: Chapter One," an animated fiction film and an ashcan preview comic in partnership with Dark Horse Comics. This new chapter, set after the 1992 Max Fearlight film and preceding 2023's teaser films, blends Oakley’s nearly 50-year legacy with the energy of a new generation.
A Protopian Vision
Future Genesis envisions a better world, maintaining Oakley's disruptive spirit while embracing hope and acceptance. Brian Takumi, VP of Creative & Soul at Oakley, states, “Chapter One follows Max Fearlight, symbolizing Oakley's legacy, as he undergoes an evolution parallel to the brand.”
The film and comic reintroduce Max, his hopeful wife Sasha, and their rebellious daughter Maxine Fearlight, who embodies curiosity and optimism.
Unique Partnership and Innovations
Oakley partners with Dark Horse Comics to bring Future Genesis to life through a preview comic available in late May. Cara O’Neil, VP of Marketing at Dark Horse Comics, highlights the excitement of this collaboration. Easter eggs within the narrative hint at upcoming Oakley innovations in design and technology.
