I’ll admit, I’m a Valentine’s Day hater. I haven’t celebrated the occasion with a boyfriend in some years, but every year, I, of course, must celebrate the Galentines way.

Galantines is about getting many, many drinks with your girlfriends and looking amazing doing it, because who cares if you have a date when you look this good? Whatever your Valentine’s plans may be, a romantic dinner with your significant other or a heinous night out with your girlfriends, you must have an outfit to fit the loving occasion.

Whether it’s dressing on theme with the pink and red cupid hearts or defying the Hallmark holiday altogether and wearing black in mourning, I am giving my all into my outfit this year. I want to look elegant and chic, as if ending the night alone were entirely purposeful.

If you're a romantic, you might opt for a satin pink glam look. But for the cynics like me, I’ll be wearing a micro dress with messy hair and zero apologies. This year, we are even making animal print one of the day’s signature colors. Whether we love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is for us girls to feel good about ourselves. Boys, as usual, are a mere afterthought.
