Nike Will Have New CEO Come Jan
They’re just doing it.
Many sneakerheads are familiar with the name Mark Parker. After all, he’s been at the helm of the world’s largest sportswear cooperation for well over a decade. But, as with all good things, this too must come to an end.
Parker described the decision as: “an exciting time for Nike where we see brand strength and momentum throughout the world and great opportunity for future growth....I look forward to continuing to lead the Board as Executive Chairman, as well as partnering closely with John and the management team to help him transition to his new role.”
So come January the sports giant will have a new CEO: John Donahoe. Donahoe is currently an acting member of the Board of Nike and the CEO of digital cloud company ServiceNow, Inc. His CV also boasts an exceptional list of global strategy, digital and leadership achievements; even serving as President and CEO of eBay for a time. No need to worry then; from the sounds of things the ship is in good hands.
