“Don’t change your dream. Change the world.”

The FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 is just around the corner, and in anticipation for the international sporting event Nike has unveiled a brand new campaign: “Dream Further”.

The new campaign celebrates female soccer players from all nationalities and walks of life. The three-minute-long video is set from the perspective of a ten-year-old soccer player from California, Makena Cooke. The video represents the younger sports player’s ambitions as she dreams about a career in sports alongside the strong women which she admires. These women include Dutch football player Lieke Martens, Wang Shuang from China, and U.S Women’s National Team player Crystal Dunn. The energetic, fast-paced video is full of inspirational imagery and ends with the slogan: “Don’t change your dream. Change the world”.

The short film is representative of the next progressions of Nike’s “Just Do It” series, which was established from a Nike advertisement thirty years ago. Using inspirational sporting heroes in advertising isn’t a new concept for Nike; other memorable campaigns include “Dream Crazy” with Colin Kaepernick, “Dream Crazier” with Serena Williams” and “Dream With Us” with the US Women’s National Soccer Team.

Hit play to be inspired.
