Nike Celebrates Día De Muertos With Four New Sneakers
Mexican heritage meets sneaker artistry.
Nike is getting into the spirit of Día de Muertos, the Mexican holiday that honors the dead, with a collection of four new sneakers that pay tribute to the vibrant culture. The collection includes the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, Dunk Low, Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid, each with a unique design and color scheme.
The Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 is a sleek and elegant sneaker that features a black and gold floral pattern on the upper, with a skull motif on the lateral heel and sockliner. The shoe also has a Zoom Air unit in the heel for extra comfort and cushioning.
The Dunk Low is a more playful and colorful sneaker that mixes snake skin and gold on the toe box and lateral overlays, with pops of pink on the tongue tag, interior lining and heel. The heel also has a marigold flower, which is a symbol of Día de Muertos.
The Air Max 1 is a standout sneaker that showcases a vivid pink color palette with a doodle-like Swoosh and abstract floral embroidering on the toe box and throughout the shoe. The shoe also has an Air unit in the midsole for classic comfort and style.
The Blazer Mid is a more subtle and serene sneaker that has a cream white base with an airbrushed light baby blue on the sides. The shoe also has a golden crescent moon on the heel and a glittering black and gold Swoosh on the side.
The Nike Día de Muertos collection will be available on the SNKRS app, with the Nike Dunk Low and Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 releasing on October 21 for $125 USD and $165 USD respectively. The Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid will follow later this month, so stay tuned for more details.
