Nike Basketball Reveals Four Special Edition Sneakers In Honor Of Opening Night
Time for the big leagues.
In honor of the NBA’s opening night next Tuesday, Nike Basketball has designed four special edition sneakers to vamp up the signature shoes of key players. And we want them all!
The first player to be honored is small and power forward for the Brooklyn Jets: Kevin Durant. Nike built the KD 12 YouTube shoe expressly for the player’s “dominance and endless energy all game long,” with the latest Nike Zoom Air technology. Fanatics will have to wait until October 26th to get their hands on these though!

Next up, Kyrie Irving; the Australian-born point guard for the Brooklyn Jets has his iconic Kyrie 5 shoe fused with Spongebob Squarepants’ Pineapple House. So, does this grant us permission to rewatch the cartoon then? The release date for this one is October 24th.

The next player to be highlighted is Paul George, the small forward for the Los Angeles Clippers. His PG3 shoe is going space-age with a nod to the NASA organization, featuring an awesome imprinted quote on the heel: “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon.” The PG3 X NASA shoe is out October 23rd.

The final shoe celebrates the 2019 (literal) MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The All Bros Shoe belonging to the Greek small and power forward for the Milwaukee Bucks receives a facelift; they’re calling them the Nike Zoom Freak 1 All Bros 2. If these sneaks are freaks, we’d like to get freaky October 27th then, thank you very much.
