AMBUSH Teams Up With Nike And NBA For Court Inspired Collection
Catch us dressed up and court side.
Hot off the back of the Beats By Dre collab, AMBUSH co-founder YOON is making history as the first woman to team up with Nike and the NBA for a basketball inspired collection.
Bringing fresh styling into the mix, the collection focuses on female fans, and is spiked with YOON’s infectious energy and AMBUSH’s signature detailing.
“The project began with a conversation about making women feel proud to represent their favorite teams,” says YOON, who previously worked on a collaborative Nike football collection. “We were considering how to balance the culture of the sport without losing style.”
YOON’s multidisciplinary background and creative vision sees her reimagining Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets apparel, paying tribute to strong female characters of the 90s who were already making sportswear and menswear their own. “I thought of all these amazing and strong female characters from the ’90s who would come out in men’s clothes, and I wanted to see how we could carry that attitude, but bring in more feminine forms,” she says.
YOON’s ode to the 90s is marked across the collection, which features word marked jackets, reworked tearaway sweatpants with insulated liners for a winterized twist and form-fitting long sleeves that all reflect classic NBA team wear aesthetics.
Alongside the collection sits the high cut Ambush x Nike Dunk, which actually draws from Japanese bike and car culture, with the swoosh extending past the heel of the shoe.
The Nike x AMBUSH NBA collection is set to release globally December 11.
