The student/extravagant photographer Nicky Ottav is hard to miss in any occasion. Working as a freelance photographer in LA, the flamboyant Ottav personifies cyberspace. His work is the ultimate reflection of this mutlifaceted personality. Glitter and neon galore as the futuristic cyber techno feel whirls you down a matrix of sensations in Ottav`s brilliantly colourful world. We had a quick moment to pick Nicky’s brain about what inspires him and his plans for the future ….

Was there something/someone who inspired you to be a photographer?
I am just a visual person in general. Every time I read a magazine I just look at the images, I rarely read the words! I love conceptualizing a shoot and having the instant gratification that photos provide; I don’t have enough patience to be a painter or anything time consuming!

The wildest thing you’ve ever done?
The wildest thing I’ve ever done is probably swinging from the giant chandelier at a club in New York called the Up&Down. It was so much fun, seriously.

Your fashion fix you can’t do without?
I love the shit out of matchy-matchy outfits. Aka wearing one color or one single graphic print.

What do you consider your ultimate form of self expression?
My ultimate form of self expression is just being me 24/7. I am a piece of art, we all are. What I wear and how I act is one huge performance.

Biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is when people are late. I’m always on time.

Fave party track?
I love ‘Coco’ by O.T. Genasis! It’s so fun to dance to and be super dramatic at a party.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I honestly see myself hosting a television talk show or on a reality show. I want to be an entertainer but I want to ‘play’ myself. I see myself signing autographs and taking hella silly photos with my fans, twerking on a red carpet, and spreading the Kawaii lifestyle worldwide! Get ready world I’m ready to take you by storm!
