Mugler’s FW20 Collection Is Dominated By Ultra Sexy Latex And Architectural Inspirations
Including female empowered silhouettes worn by Bella Hadid and Snoh Aalegra.
On day two of Paris Fashion Week, Mugler designer Casey Cadwallader delivered a Fall/Winter 2020 collection highlighted by architectural inspirations and subdued leather and mesh fabrics. Casey’s eighth collection for the French fashion house takes a different approach from the brand’s SS20 collection which was defined by athletic-mesh paneled tailoring, sexy lingerie, and hosiery.
“Last season was so much about exposing the body and curves,” he said backstage. “For fall, I wanted to play with more layers and volume and outerwear, but with peeks of lingerie underneath.”
Throughout the collection, intricate tailoring celebrated and complemented the female form, while boxy jackets and angular cuts were inspired by the American designer’s architectural roots. Also included in the effortlessly chic collection were sheer dresses which showed off enough skin between strategically placed inserts that highlighted the bust and the pelvis. Among the vast array of statement looks were buttery leather skirts in chocolate brown and black shades with swooping garter belts, and a matching skin-tight leather top and pant combination. On the catwalk, Bella Hadid wowed in a black-and-nude bodysuit styled with knee-high boots in the same colorway.
