MSGM's 'Manifesto' Collection Celebrates A Love Of Milan

‘Manifesto’, MSGM’s campaign film for their FW21 collection, is full of an array of bright, eye catching colors, from seafoam green and electric blue to bright fuchsia. Posited as a celebration of life, Milan and genderless expression, the campaign is nothing if not forward-thinking and bold. MSGM are bringing out a collection of clothes that are both classic and novel, intermixing deliberately eye catching textures and colors with timeless everyday wear design. 

The direction and style of 'Manifesto' reflects this juxtaposition perfectly. Director Francesco Coppola’s decision to have the models strut backwards is almost as striking as the clothes themselves. Both a disorientating and fascinating choice, it forces the audience to question ‘where are we going?’, a theme only amplified by the futuristic elements of the clothes, narration and backdrop.
