The Modern Artsy Aesthetic
Everyone needs to start painting their jeans.
The other day, I found myself in Socktopus, not because I particularly needed new socks, but because I enjoy having a browse. I remember a time when socks were considered the absolute rock bottom of Christmas gifts, but nowadays, with the success of stores like these that sell quirky and vibrant options, I think people look at them much more favorably.

It got me thinking about the mid-2010s Tumblr artsy period. Days when mustard yellow, berets, and oversized glasses ruled the internet. The fact that you can still buy a pair of colorful sunflower socks shows that this trend is still living on in some form.

Painted jeans were also a staple of the time, and they seem to be back in. Jeans are the epitome of an nondescript clothing item, yet the minute you whip out the fabric paints, they say so much more about you and your tastes. My friend painted a tiger on her jeans not long ago, and I've been envious, to say the least.
