The Belgian-German label 'Milk of Lime' has fully captured the limelight at Berlin Fashion Week, debuting a new collection featuring menswear as well as womenswear within the charming dome venue at Silent Green, located in Berlin-Wedding.

Their SS25 collection, titled "CURRENT", is a perfect pairing of conceptual work and grunge influences. According to the designers, it expresses how the different weather conditions, negative and positive, affect people, their moods, actions, and the environment nowadays. As well as how they affect our beloved fabrics. A sense of authentic folklore was also smartly incorporated into the collection through modern graphics and fine use of script.

"CURRENT" encapsulates Milk of Lime's original approach, capturing the essence of spring and summer using organic fabrics like wool, muslin cotton, and linen across the collection. The looks were accompanied by distressed finishes and a concept of accessories that created a sheltering effect. Models appeared with their hair carefully styled with thin cords or pins, as though they were trying to protect themselves from an imaginary thunderstorm.

One could say that the grunge elements were paired together with traditional haute couture techniques displayed in the form of silky fabrics and intricate lace details as well as t-shirts in modern prints and bulky outerwear. Fusing lightweight fabrics alongside rough leather and textured knits, helps blur the lines of spring/summer and fall/winter styles and creates a more liberated take on the season. Breaking the rules and norms of typical spring/summer fashion.

Milk of Lime's SS25 collection this past Berlin Fashion Week, proved not only to be highly innovative but also served as a flirty provocation to change the way we look at typical garments, setting a clear tone for a fluid and expressive sense of style for the future of fashion.
