mercy, mercy Shares A Story Of Her Addiction
Her newest single, ‘Sick To My Stomach’, is both a wakeup call and a cry for help.
It takes a lot of courage and self-insight to realize an addiction, especially at its early stages. That's why it's particularly admirable that mercy, mercy, Sydney-based alt-pop artist, decided to go one step further. Not only is her newest single, 'Sick To My Stomach,' a highly personal confession but also, it indicates the importance of support under such difficult circumstances.
The Aussie artist with over 12 million streams to her name has struggled with addiction to alcohol and cigarettes. 'It may seem like old news to some people because it's what I always sing about,' she admits. 'Right now, in my life, I am struggling with heartbreak for another, but for myself,' mercy, mercy adds.
She also confesses that many people around her didn't notice the seriousness of her problem. 'When I wrote this song, I felt like anyone I told about my addiction would question it because it wasn't life-threatening in their eyes. This song will take you on a journey of me and my self-worth. It is really showing you that I have come to a realization where I begin to understand what is truly going on with myself and that it really is an issue people start worrying about.'
'Sick To My Stomach' by mercy, mercy announces her sophomore EP, due to come out later in 2022.
