MELLER Wants Your Screen Glasses to Have Some Personality

Luma, Osei, Nayah, Lebo and Dotia

POSTED BY ZOE TYLER

I have a confession: I am absolutely the person who can spend eight hours staring at a laptop, immediately pick up my phone, and then somehow end the night watching something on another screen.

So if I'm going to spend half my life looking at pixels, I would at least like my glasses to look good while I'm doing it.

MELLER's Blue Light collection is basically built for that exact lifestyle, with a lineup of fashion-forward frames designed for the endless rotation of work, scrolling, streaming, and doing the whole thing again tomorrow.

Your Screen Glasses Don't Have to Look Like Screen Glasses

This is what I like about MELLER's approach. The brand isn't treating blue-light glasses like some sad little piece of office equipment that lives next to your keyboard. The collection includes everything from oversized square shapes to rounded and oval frames, with options like Luma, Osei, Nayah, Lebo and Dotia.

They're €49, and the whole point is that they can actually look like something you'd choose to wear.

Which feels important when the average day now involves approximately seventeen different screens.

Work, Scroll, Stream, Repeat

MELLER's campaign gets the modern screen addiction cycle exactly right. You finish work and look at your phone. You get tired of your phone and turn on the TV. You put something on in the background while checking your phone again.

At some point, “taking a break from the screen” has basically become a fictional concept.

The collection is designed for people spending long stretches around digital devices, with lenses featuring a coating intended to filter some of the blue light emitted by screens.

And at least this solution doesn't require downloading another app to remind you that you've been scrolling for three hours.

The Frames Are Doing Some Heavy Lifting

My favorite part is that MELLER hasn't made the functional angle the entire personality of the glasses.

Dotia has an oval black frame that feels polished without trying too hard. Luma goes square and transparent. Osei brings a slightly more statement-making shape, while Nayah and the rest of the collection give you enough variety to actually pick something that feels like you.

Basically, you can treat them the same way you'd treat sunglasses: as something that changes the mood of your face.

I'm Done With Boring Desk Accessories

MELLER's Blue Light collection is a pretty good argument for treating everyday functional objects with a little more personality.

Your headphones can match your outfit. Your laptop case can be cute. Your water bottle can have a point of view. And apparently your glasses can help you survive another eight-hour screen marathon without looking like you just left an optometrist's waiting room.

Honestly, I'll take it.

Because if I'm going to stare at a screen all day, I might as well look cute doing it.
