Martine Rose X Nike

First look at the Craigslist exclusive.

POSTED BY HANNAH MASSEY

Up until now, Nike has first and foremost collaborated with male designers. The tables were swiftly turned when earlier this year Nike confirmed they would collaborate with the likes of Yoon, Sarah Andelman and of course, Martine Rose.

Inspired by streetwear culture, the collection fuses together both English and American sports heritage to create a fresh perspective on athletic wear. Speaking exclusively to Vogue, Rose said “We took a silhouette based on a very British tracksuit that you might get in JD Sports. Then, we created a trainer inspired by Nike’s Monarch style, which is a very middle-America-dad trainer.”

The collection will consist of vintage inspired sportswear such as tracksuits, vintage style football shirts and the classic Nike Air Monarch silhouette revamped into two colorways; pink and navy/white.

With general release not until next year, this special edition collection will be partly available to London based craigslist sellers, which is unchartered territory for both Martine Rose and Nike. Take a sneak peak at the lookbook and keep an eye out for the eagerly anticipated collection.
