Take A Vacation To Palm Springs With Marcell Von Berlin’s New Collection
Find out why this spring/summer collection has cable-knit sweaters!
“For me, Palm Springs is a mood: fun yet classy with intricate details.”
Marcel Putsul found the inspiration for his latest Spring/Summer collection in the iconic vacation destination of stars. The founder and creative director of Marcel Von Berlin brought the glitz and glamour of Palm Springs as well as the dry heat of the desert to this collection.
The foundation of the collection is found in the modern, clean lines and structure that Palm Springs style is known for. Featured pieces include a multitude of tailored orange suits with strong, crisp pleats and lines. But Putsul adds back in desert elements with feathering on the end of sleeves and down the side of pants. He also includes brown, purple and green coloring to accent the orange and to bring in the earthiness, dustiness, and the cooling sunset of Palm Springs.
Putsul also brought the history of Palm Springs into the MVB collection. The feathering not only represents desert creatures, but also the fashion of the 1920s stars who vacationed in Palm Springs. Meanwhile, chunky sweaters, snake print leggings, and color blocking were used to reference 80s fashion. Putsul makes sure that these elements all work together to give the collection the sensation of a cool, breezy summer’s night in Palm Springs.
The collection will be available on Marcell Von Berlin’s website and in their Berlin and Los Angeles flagship stores in October.
