A Love Letter To Shoulder Bags

Some trends come and go, but others become a staple in your life forever. For me, one of those trends that stuck is the shoulder bag – it’s the perfect purse! I love the freedom of grabbing my shoulder bag when I leave the house rather than a bigger tote.

It fits all my essentials: wallet, gum, and at least six lippies. I never feel weighed down or have to rummage through a bottomless pit to find my subway card at the bottom. It keeps everything orderly, accessible, and still stylish – fashionable and functional is always the dream.

What I love the most about the shoulder bag is how something so small can add so much to an outfit; it doesn’t overwhelm the outfit, it completes it. The perfect shoulder bag matches almost any outfit, but can still make a statement on its own.

Right now, I have two shoulder bags in my rotation: my everyday dark navy bag that goes with everything, and my purple faux-crocodile-skin statement purse for when I want to add a pop of color. I’m easily able to switch my essentials between the two bags when needed.
