LV’s SS21 Sneakers Are Made Out Of… LV Sneakers?

It’s the sneaker circle of life.

POSTED BY TENAI PALOMINO

Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2021 Upcycling Collection is spotlighting the reinvention of pre-loved kicks. Created out of disassembled LV 2019 sneakers, new versions of the silhouette are born, leaving no two pairs the same.

The collection boasts 5 low-top colorways, featuring delicate details including monogram flowers on the sole, the LV signature on the lateral, and “LV Upcycling” on the heel. In line with the fashion house’s pledge to move towards more sustainable pieces, the production process of the new collection aims to maximise the use of existing materials, aligning with Abloh’s “upcycling ideology” for SS21. Crafted out of calfskin and suede, the sneaker arrives with assembly instructions for cutting or centring excess stitching threads, offering buyers the opportunity to customise the sneaker, adding their own unique and personal twist. Did we mention the cute af tie-dye laces?

As of right now, the release date for the sneaker remains under wraps, but check back with us more info. We got you covered.
