When you think of Ferrari you think of motorsport and automotives. However, that may be about to change. Three years ago Ferrari began competing in the world of luxury fashion. Now, they have released their first Resort collection and it does not disappoint.

Referencing the collection, creative director Rocco Iannone said, “Creating fashion means engaging with a complex industrial system, and you cannot expect to integrate it into a reality like Ferrari’s overnight: it requires time, expertise, seriousness, respect and lessons learned. This collection is not a show in the broadest sense of the term, but the synthesis of a dialogue with our customers over seven seasons.”

The complex industrial system will see the range debut in boutiques across three different drops throughout the year. Each piece embodies the wardrobe of those who enjoy Ferrari as a lifestyle and with this in mind, they recovered disused tires to form Q-Cycle™, a yarn that transformed into a woven nylon twill as well as couture-inspired knitwear, conceived as a see-through crochet.

The Ferrari color palette broadened its horizons also. The team moved away from Rosso Corsa to include ecru and white, navy or Klein blue, sage or fir green, as well as black.

Ballerinas and sneakers were designed as driving shoes, leather was used in joggers or blazers, and bolts were embedded in canvas bags. The fusion did not stop there - the Ferrari livery used to customize collector’s cars applied to tailored garments and the 7x7 check pattern was transferred into jewelry to reflect Art Deco style codes.

The connections between the automotive sphere and fashion were endless and perfect for the Ferrari fan in your life - whether that is you or another.
