Liana Flores’ New Single "So It Goes"
The soundtrack to slowing down.
Every time Liana Flores releases new music, I end up wondering why I don't listen to bossa nova more often. There's something about her songs that instantly makes everything feel quieter, even when the lyrics are sitting with heavier emotions.
Her latest single, "So It Goes," is no different. Floating between English and Portuguese, the track wraps introspective lyrics in soft bossa nova rhythms that somehow make uncertainty feel almost comforting.
It Sounds Light, But There's So Much Going On Underneath

One thing I always love about Liana's music is that it never feels overly dramatic. Instead, she lets the melodies do a lot of the emotional work.
She explained that "So It Goes" is about carrying your own private struggles while the world keeps moving around you, and I think that contrast is exactly what makes the song so beautiful. The breezy production almost disguises the weight of the lyrics, making it the kind of song that reveals something new every time I listen.
Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Paul Butler, the track also continues the Brazilian influences that shaped her debut album, Flower of the Soul, while still feeling fresh rather than familiar.
I'm Excited To See Where This Era Goes

This is already Liana's third release of the year, following collaborations with Mei Semones and bossa nova legend Roberto Menescal, and she's confirmed that even more music is on the way.
I love that Liana isn't chasing louder trends or bigger pop moments. Instead, she's continuing to build this beautifully understated world that's completely her own. If "So It Goes" is a glimpse of what's coming next, I'll happily keep it on repeat while I wait for the rest.
