Labubu May Be The Doll For You
These cheeky little figures make the perfect accessories.
Collectibles continue to be a popular way to customize your spaces and accessories or just express your personal style. You could revisit childhood classics with Sanrio or Sylvanian Families or become obsessed with relatively new faves like Funko Pops. You don’t have to look far to find something that suits your aesthetic.
The most recent collection many are going crazy for is Labubu Dolls. They are little gremlin looking creatures whose adorable furry selves are full of mischief. Their frenzied smiles and cheeky expressions are a nice contrast to the calm and neutral expressions you find on most collectible dolls.
They were originally created in 2015 by Kasing Lung and became a part of the Pop Mart brand through a partnership in 2019. PopMart is well known for their Skullpanda and Molly ranges of collectibles. Labubu was a welcome addition and this partnership helped the dolls become more well known.
As with most trends, finding favor with a celebrity is when things can really skyrocket. Lisa, star of the globally popular K-Pop group Blackpink, has shared her love for Labubu dolls on social media. She seems to love the grey ones especially.
Unfortunately, some are willing to do just anything to get their hands on these figures. People on TikTok have had to come up with creative solutions to keep the dolls on their bags from being stolen.
Labubu dolls are another great example of people using their grown-up money to buy the cutest things possible. It’s fun to embrace quirky accessories and see which new brands rise to the top as the love for all things adorable continues.
