Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 Release Date Announced
The brother to the Air Jordan 1 OG Dior is on its way.
Kim Jones, mastermind and Artistic Director behind Dior menswear and Fendi womenswear, has launched his newest collection with Nike in the remodeling of the classic Air Max 95s. “This latest capsule celebrates one of my favorite Nike shoes, the Air Max 95, by looking at the way it could be addressed with modern technology,” Jones says.
The designer is no stranger to Nike collabs and the two fashion powerhouses have been working together since 2016. The iconic Air Jordan 1 OG Dior sneaker was a product of this partnership—those sneakers that every Instagram celeb thought would confirm their influencer status—and the pair are set to continue their success in the release of these new 95s.
Nike says that “the Air Max 95 bridges eras of tech and aesthetic” and this new sneaker epitomizes just that. Gray, industrial-inspired panels trace the shape of the sneaker but these panels are also inspired by the makeup of the human body. Connectivity, fusion, and the human anatomy come to mind in the image of the data-Morse-code-like dots that decorate the shoe. Dark webbing and reflective silver accents make the shoe a glow-in-the-dark standout and the bubble white-gray sole softens the tech influences.
The colorways are also iconic of the Air Max 95 as “Total Orange” and “Volt” decorated the original Air Max. These colors in the new 95 act like tech warning lights or bright pops of neon colorings which, combined with the reflective strips, really makes the sneaker grab your attention.

Kim Jones makes his mark by branding his name on the reflective heel of the sneaker, and there is a miniature-Swoosh on the reflective front toe-cap. The designers are marrying humanity with technology in this birth of their newest collaborative child.
Retailing at $220, the Air Max 95 x Kim Jones human-oid sneaker collab is set for release on March 19th alongside an accompanying apparel collection. The Volt Air Max 95 and High Voltage apparel collections will be released exclusively for UK consumers only but the Total Orange Air Max 95 and its apparel collection will be available everywhere on the same day.
