END X Saucony’s Latest Brainwave
The new Azura 2000 is inspired by our human anatomy.
The END. x Saucony Azura 2000 anatomically-inspired creps are modelled around the curves and ligaments of the human brain. Fleshy-pink paneled uppers are a nod to this thematic brainwave and the deep red and pink colorways of the tongue and underlays follow suit. Even the laces are the color of the spongey “brain matter” used in the advertising campaign. The blue exterior seems a nod to aristocratic blue blood and the brain logo on the tongue, and salmon pink fleshy colorways introduce us firmly to “The Brain” themed collab.
The END. website says: “From burgers to lobsters, END. and Saucony have drawn from multiple sources to inspire their previous collaborations. This time, the pair look to human anatomy. The result is a rework of the Azura 2000 called “The Brain”.”
The retro-shape and style of the shoe is typical for an END. and Saucony collaboration, but the curves and veins of the combined blue-pink colorways give a new head to the joint creative endeavor. “The Brain” is both a sensory experience and a themed shoe. Mesh uppers and suede overlays add dynamism to the touch of the shoe, and the glow-in-the-dark details make sure that all eyes will be on your feet— day or night. Puffy laces, foamy soles and multi-pink-patterned toe tips add unusual dimensions to the silhouette of these blood-brain sneakers.
