Karlie Kloss x Adidas Collab On Activewear To Inspire Young Women
Not just a pretty face! Karlie is helping young women all over the world
Super model and 42-time Vogue covergirl Karlie Kloss is beautiful inside and out! She’s dedicated to empowering young women and her new endeavour with Adidas seeks to “inspire the next generation of women to use sport to fuel their passions and achieve their ambitions”.
Karlie owns a not-for-profit organisation called Kode With Klossy: a free two week summer programme for young women between 13 and 18 to learn about coding and tech. Her love of sport and creating opportunities for young women makes her the perfect fit for this new sustainable collection.
Her relationship with Adidas began in 2016 but this is the first collection Kloss has co-created. “Karlie’s passion for sport, fashion, tech and innovation, and her ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for young women through personal projects like Kode with Klossy, make her the perfect partner in the Adidas family to collaborate on a fresh collection that inspires women everywhere to embrace sport to foster a strong body and mind” says Jo Aberg, Vice President of design at Adidas.
The collection’s minimal colours of navy and black contrast the striking orange in our favourite staple pieces: from workout bras and matching leggings to streetwear inspired activewear all designed to “support a diverse range of next-generation active lifestyles”. The activewear aims to inspire women to foster a strong body and mind through sport and that mission is embodied in the campaign through two alums of the not-for-profit organisation.
Inspired by Kloss, the innovative collection uses AEROREADY fabric technology that keeps you dry, comfortable and confident when exercising. Plus, the moisture absorbing fabric is made with PRIMEBLUE and Parley Ocean Plastic - recycling plastic waste found on remote islands, beaches and shorelines to save marine life.
But the collaboration isn’t over yet! Adidas is teaming up with The Fabricant and two artists, Ruby Gloom and Blake Kathryn to create a digital interpretation of Kloss’ favourite piece, the WIND.RDY Parka. Afterwards, young creators are encouraged to contribute their own digital interpretations to be sold in blockchain. The proceeds of which will go towards Kode With Klossy events and programmes.
The Adidas x Karlie Kloss collection will be available from December 1.
