Kanye West Is Running for President
‘Kim and Kanye Take the White House’ in the making?
Challenging President Trump, Kanye West announced he will now be running for president in the 2020 election, sharing a stars and stripes flag on Twitter with: "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION."
Whilst fans and Trump-haters alike rushed to his support, West hasn’t actually made any steps to his POTUS campaign, like registering with the Federal Election Commission, or collecting enough signatures.
Despite that, Elon Musk definitely likes the idea, replying to West’s tweet with “You have my full support!”
This won’t come as a big surprise to many, considering West revealed in his 2015 VMAs acceptance speech that he would run for elections in 2020, although he apparently delayed it last year to 2024.
Fans are regularly surprised at the Trump-West relationship, whilst others have expressed on social media the shock and dismay at this announcement – a vote for Kanye isn’t a vote for Trump (yay) but it may mean not enough votes for one candidate against Trump (boo).
