Kali Uchis Wishes Us Roses with New Song and Album Announcement
The singer’s new LP Red Moon in Venus releases on March 3rd.
Kali Uchis announced her new album Red Moon in Venus and the following tour on January 23rd. The songstress dropped her lead single, "I Wish you Roses," and accompanying music video to kick off the new project. This will be Uchis' first studio album since Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) in 2020.
The dreamy "I Wish you Roses" music video saw the "telepatia" singer personifying a rose herself. The video also contained references to the iconic rose-covered dream sequence from Sam Mendes' 1999 drama American Beauty.
"Love is the message," Uchis wrote in a statement explaining the album concept. "It's believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can send your emotions into a spin, and that's what I felt represented this body of work best."
Since her last studio album, Uchis has kept herself busy with numerous collaborations, working with American singer and songwriter Omar Apollo and Ghanaian R&B artist Amaarea. Uchis' single "No Hay Ley" was released in 2022.
British singer RAYE will join the North American tour, with the first show in Austin, Texas, on April 25th. The 28-year-old singer will also be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday, April 16th and 23rd.
