David Creech, VP of design, stated 23 Engineered is all about ‘new thinking in apparel by obsessing over fit, form and function.’ The collection takes the engineering of designs seriously, with each aspect of the apparel formed thoughtfully with intricate detail. Materials and the construction process are founded on needs and each need is reflected in this fresh approach from the brand.
Creech says the brand has always been innovative in this aspect, adding, ‘We’ve always played a part in shifting the paradigm, stylistically, of what was happening in the moment’.
23 Engineered is the primary aim of Jordan Brand’s apparel range, the branding and aesthetic are deliberate and fresh choices. The brands traditional color schemes and graphic blockings are taken further with some new designs, ‘23 Engineered expands beyond our bloodline color schemes’, explains Creech. With a contemporary take on the traditional heritage of Jordan Brand’s, the collections are appropriate for the global consumer, evolving the ideas that shaped the 2018 Wings Washed range.
There is a nostalgia to the collection but a sharp hit of modern edge which places Jordan Brand’s as a frontrunner in innovative sportswear for the modern day.
