Jeremy Scott Unveils His Technicolour Dream World For Moschino

The 2022 resort and menswear collections are combined with a colour-drenched musical.

POSTED BY ERIN DEVINE

Jeremy Scott has created a plastic-fantastic film for Moschino SS22 featuring a hotdog dress and a chocolate sundae bustier. “This season, it’s all about song and dance,” Scott said of the Moschino style musical. “Few things make me happier than when style and cinema collide.”

The film, shot on the back lots at Universal Studios, star supermodel and singer-songwriter Karen Elson as a daydreaming waitress with patrons, cooks and fellow waitresses transforming into her backup dancers. “I love the absurdity, the joy and the whimsy of musicals,” said Scott. “I love how it’s like, a normal moment, and then all of a sudden one person breaks out into song and dance.” ‘Lightning Strikes’ is a homage to classic Hollywood musicals with Elson covering “Everybody Dance” in a multi-colored day dress whilst customers spin around her in Moschino-branded varsity jackets and rainbow cardigans.

Between chorus lines, Scott reveals his collection which is not for the faint of heart. From salt and pepper shaker shoes to an ice-cream sundae dress, Scott’s signature style is combined with the Americana fantasy. “It’s just something that clicks for me,” Scott says of his fashion and food combinations.  “It makes me giggle, I find it fun and amusing.”
