The first-ever Latin artist to collab on an Air Jordan, reggaeton singer J Balvin, has launched his first sneaker collaboration filled with bright colors that are inspired by his bubbling personality.

Colombia born, J Balvin is one of the best-selling Latin artists with sales of more than 35 million records around the world, now, he’s hoping for the same effect with his Air Jordan 1s. Balvin first debuted this sneaker during his Super Bowl halftime show in February 2020, even since it’s been on every sneaker head’s wish list.

Purposefully color-intense, the classic Air Jordan 1 basketball silhouette is given a vibrant Latin take on the classic Jordan colorways. The sneaker begins red hot on the tongue, before cooling down mid-way with blended yellows, greens and ending with a dark sky blue on the toecap.

These sneakers pull off the sharply shaped fringes on the toecap, eyestays and around the fade-patterned Swoosh. “I wanted to be the person who really dared to change the shapes and go all out. No one has touched the Air Jordan 1 like this before,” said Balvin himself in a recent interview.

Onto more detailing, Balvin’s smiley face motif is patched onto tongue tag, along with interchangeable patches including a lightening bolt, a basketball, a smiley face graphic and the classic Jumpman graphic. And lastly, the bright white midsoles and a choice of white, black and pink laces join the whole look together. You couldn’t get any more unique with this sneaker.

The J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 is set to launch December 8 via Nike SNKRS and other retailers. Set your alarms to cop these bad boys!
