Inside Savage X Fenty’s Star-Studded Show
Badgal RiRi did it again.
“NYFW just got REAL”, reads Savage X Fenty’s latest IG caption. And we couldn’t agree more! The picture shows the singer turned lingerie legend, designer and beauty mogul, rocking a sexy black head-to-toe lace ensemble with a velvet mini skirt and pointy sock boots and we’re all here for it.
Rihanna, who’s been on a music break since 2016, has made one headline after the other (in the most positive way possible) since the launch of her all-inclusive lingerie brand two years ago. After presenting us, amongst others, pregnant model Slick Woods in a barely-there black lace ensemble for SS19, the singer took it one step further this season by banning phones from her show.
Through a short promo video posted to her account, she announced that the show will be available to stream via Amazon Prime from 20th September onwards. “You have no idea how crazy of a show is coming to @amazonprimevideo !!”, she commented. Genius, if you ask us!
The show, which happened last night in NYC, was filled with celebs, both on the catwalk and the guestlist. Rihanna, who opened the show herself, was surrounded by podiums filled with the likes of Cara Delevingne, the Hadid sisters and Joan Smalls (just to name a few) presenting RiRi’s latest lingerie designs, while music titans DJ Khaled, Big Sean, Halsey and many more graced us with live performances.

Many more celebs took to Twitter afterward to share initial thoughts about the show. Singer-songwriter Bishop Brigs posted a short video of herself, accompanied by the caption, “OMG, little Goth-Me just went 2 the Savage X Fenty by Rihanna Fashion Show and it makes me SO happy 2 see all different shapes and sizes and skin tones on the runway. It’s how it should be all the time!!!” Other well-known faces to hit the red carpet included Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, G-Eazy, Paris Hilton, Diplo, … the list goes on and on.
Through Savage X Fenty, Rihanna has targeted a market gap no other lingerie designer was able to fill. She creates lingerie that will make every woman feel beautiful, empowered and strong, no matter what shape, size or color she is. And we can’t wait to see what our favorite BadGal comes up with next…
